West Virginia University Institute of Technology is located in Montgomery, West Virginia, thirty miles southeast of Charleston, the state capital. Situated between the Kanawha River and the picturesque Appalachian Mountains, Montgomery has about 2,500 residents. In addition, approximately 2,468 Tech students reside in the town from August to May.
Tech's main campus is highly accessible from several major roadways including I-64, I-77, and I-79 with U.S. Route 60 serving as a major artery. Bus services are available through Greyhound Lines as well as the Kanawha Rapid Transit (KRT). Both the KRT and MTA run regular schedules to Montgomery with destination points in Charleston and many Kanawha Valley communities via the KRT and Oak Hill and Summersville via the MTA.
Another major asset to Tech, is the Amtrak service located across from campus. With stops such as Chicago, Cincinnati, Washington D.C., and New York City, the railway provides a convenient method of transportation for many students in the continental United States. With the Yeager Airport only 30 minutes away, Tech is just a flight away from any destination in the world.
Our events take place in the Tech Center Ballroom on campus. You may see where the Tech Center is located and nearby parking lots here.
