Just to let everyone know, there is no registration for our TechLAN Jr. events. The "Registered Contestants" link applies only to our upcoming TechLAN 2007 event. TechLAN Jr. is just a means for us to test our servers and iron out problems before our next big event. If you're coming, see you then!
Registration Updates

One of the results of the recent staff meeting was to resolve the tournament selection problem. Since this community is somewhat democratic, we decided to leave it in your hands. As of now, when you register, you will be able to select what games you would like to see played as tournaments. This way, everyone has the opportunity to choose and most importantly, you can't complain to us about not letting you get to voice your opinion. Ha ha! Take that! :)
Finally, all of the results are displayed below the registered contestants' names. I hope this gives us one less headache and makes everyone happy. Probably not, but I remain hopeful.
LANville Staff Meeting - January 19th
Last updated on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 - 11:34pm
There will be a LAN Staff Meeting on January 19th at 3:00 PM in the ACM Room (back hallway of ELAB.)
Attendence is HIGHLY recommended as we are going to be reassigning responsibilities as well as moving very quickly as TechLAN is less than four months away (oh noes!)
Please submit any topics for the agenda to Kel by midnight Thursday night, so that we can have an accurate agenda for everyone at this meeting.
Among the topics we'd like to discuss:
The "OMG STOP TEAM KILLING USSSSSSSS" Policy for Annoying People
Induction of one or two new staff members (Yay!)
Rehashing of responsibilities (specifically, I'd like to give everyone proper titles and responsibilities.)
Possibility of Pre-selling some admission.
Tournament Voting (Drew and I discussed this a little. We think we've got it figured out.)

I've added a poll to quiz everyone on what they want. Normally, I would post this in the forums, but I want feedback from all visitors. We may have a couple of opportunities to have a gaming server so that we may pwn each other in between LAN parties. Let us know what you think by voting. If you have more to say on the subject, post it in the forums.
Kel's 2006 End of the Year Thoughts

Guys, it's been an amazing year. Look at where we were a year ago, and look at where we are now. We all deserve to be proud of what we've done. Here's some of the ways I've noticed us growing:
1. Our events are becoming extremely sophisticated. When I saw the finished and ready-to-LAN ballroom, it was a real eye-opener. We've moved from trash bags to industrial plastic to keep light out. We've started using web based tournament tools. It's really changed from two years ago.
2. Our events are much more populated than they used to be. We also bought more food for this past than than we've ever done before, and it was pretty much gone by the time we were finished.
3. We've caught the interest of several outside groups, such as WVU Tech Admissions and Fox News. We really should be proud of that. How many LANs have you ever seen on the news? I can say one.
